Our vision is a warm and welcoming place where people from all walks of life can come together, enjoy kitesurfing, relax and be happy!

Sun Wind Beach was born in 2015 from the dream of Susantha Fernando, Kalpitiya’s first local kitesurfer. Coming from a traditional fishing family with generations of local knowledge, Susantha is a master boatsman who knows every corner of the peninsula.

His journey began in 2007, during the quiet years of the civil war, when he taught himself to kite using a gear gifted by travelers. After years of refining his skills in kite schools and achieving IKO certification, he decided to open his own camp to showcase the beauty of his home.

Today, Susantha’s vision is a reality: a welcoming place where people from all walks of life can come together to kite, relax, and be happy.
